His Excellency the Governor will arrive in Southland in January, and may be expected to visit Riverton about the end of that month. It is about time the citizens commenced to prepare for his reception. We suggest that a committee should be formed to malic arrangements for the reception of Sir James Fergusson in a manner befitting his distinguished rank and the important district of which this town is the capital.
