MUNICIPAL THEATRE

“THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL”

TO-NIGHT (MONDAY)

Do not miss the final screening of this splendid picture “The Scarlet Pimpernel,” which takes place at the Waipukurau Theatre to-night. As an adventure or series of adventures it is unsurpassable. There are suspense, excitement and thrills as one adventure after another unreels. The foppish london club-man and the “demned elusive pimpernel,” who helps emigres escape by the French revolutionaries, are both played by Leslie Howard with polish, charm and resource. His make-up as the British nobleman and then as the French “yokel” engrossed in activities subversive to the revolutionaries’ interests is really breath-taking and a revelation of what can be done In that line.
