TAKAPAU SCHOOL

MONTHLY MEETING

(From Our Own Correspondent;

The monthly meeting of the Takapau School Committee was held on Monday night, when the following were present: Messrs. N. M. Paulsen (chairman), J. A. Grant, F. H. Hillier, D. Vesty, J. Thomsen and A. Folley. An apology was received from Air. D. McMillan.

The headmaster’s report showed an average attendance of 168, and that the readers ordered by the committee had arrived and were being greatly made use of by the pupils. The inspectors’ report was read, this showing a very satisfactory state of affairs for which the headmaster and his staff were complimented. The chairman reported on the visit of the member of the Education Board. Mr. W. Cuthbertson, and Mr. W. L. Dunn, secretary, on proposed work which will be placed before the board for authorisation at its next meeting. Several accounts were passed for payment, amounting to £9, and arrangements were made for the usual breaking-up ceremony at the school, when several items will be rendered by the children, and parents will provide afternoon tea.
