ELECTION CAMPAIGN
MR. ORMOND AT WAIPAWA
ACCORDED GOOD RECEPTION
The largest audience that has assembled in the Waipawa Municipal Theatre in the course of the present election campaign, greeted Mr. John Ormond, Junr., the Independent National candidate, last evening.
The Mayor (Mr. C. G. E. Harker) presidede, and introduced the candidate, stating that he was well-known in local body affairs as well as being a member of the New Zealand Meat Board.
On rising to speak Mr Ormond was cordially received and throughout his meeting met with a very attentive hearing.
The candidate spoke for an hour and a half, outlining his policy, paying special attention to unemployment and educational problems. At the close he answered a number of questions to the evident satisfaction of those concerned, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, moved by Mr. H. Rathbone, and seconded by Mrs (Dr.) J. P. Walker.
