The “Daily Telegraph’s” air correspondent states that between 200 and 250 first-line aircraft will be added to the expansion programme already announced, giving a total home defence force of 1500 and a fleet air arm and overseas units of 6 90. Between 2500 and 3000 more officers and men will be required.

Colonel W. W. Hill told a meeting that recent Air Ministry documents decaired that any modern Power was able to drop 300 tons of bombs on London in one raid, maintaining this rate indefinitely.

In the last war a total of 50 tons of bombs fell on London. The growth of electricity has made it impossible to drop a bomb anywhere in London without smashing up some service.
