SHEEP SECTION COMMITTEE election of officers A meeting of the Sheep Section i Sub-Committee of the A. and P. As- '■ sociation was held on Tuesday, when there were present: Messrs. T. E. Whelch, H. P. Hole, R. B. Nation, G. G. Speedy, Ivan Samuels, H. Stovell, . A. Kittow, D. W. Lethbridge, P. F. Wall, F. R. McWilliam, and the act-ing-secretary (Mrs. G. R. Cook). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs E. C. Nation and E. Gilbertson. Mr. T. E* Whelch was re-elected as chairman. Wool Judging. Mr. R. Davey offered a special prize for. an amateur wool judging class. This matter was considered at length, members expressing the opinion that it would not be practicable to run this class in conjunction with the fleece wool competition. It was resolved that Mr. Whelch discuss the matter with Mr. Davey, and advise the secretary of the decision arrived at. Officials. The following appointments were made: — Judges: Southdowns and ( Romneys, Mr. R. M. Perry, Masterly ton; fat sheep and lambs, Mr. K. Deighton, Marton; fleece wool, Mr. Cornish, Napier. Stewards: Sheep, Messrs.-’T. E. Whelch and R. B. Nation were reappointed as chief stewards for the Sheep Section; wool, Messrs. D. W. Lethbridge and Allan Kittow were appointed as chief stewards of Wool Section. Attendant for Sheep Section: Mr. G. Tucker was re-appointed. It was left to the chief stewards of each section to arrange their own . assistants. DOG TRIAL SECTION A meeting of the Dog Trial Section Sub-Coismittee was held on Tuesday, when there were present: Messrs. W. J. Craig, A. E. Williams, W. J. MeGaveston, J. Johnstone, Ewen McLenr nan and the assistant-secretary (Mrs. 1 G. R. Cook). x On the motion of Mr. J. Johnstone, seconded by Mr. M.cGaveston, Mr. Ewen McLennan was re-elected as chairman for the ensuing term. Officials. The following officials were then appointed:—Judge, Mr. R. J. McDonald, Dannevirke; field secretary, Captain Forde; timekeeper, Mr. C. J. Campion, Takapau; flag steward, Mr. Jas. Butler, Mt. Herbert, Waipukurau; releasing stewards, Messrs A. E. Williams, Takapau, and Alex McKenzie, Waipukurau; course stewards, Messrs. J. Johnstone and J. Chalmers, Waipukurau; assistant stewards, Messrs. W. J. McGaveston, J. Turley, W. E. Nelmes, W. J. Craig and ' Smith. General. Mt. McLennan agreed to make ar-
rangements for use of hurdles on Show Day. ' Mr. A. E. Williams moved and Mr. W. J. Craig seconded that Mr. J. D. ' Todd be approached with a view to 1 his again loaning sheep for dog trials. It was resolved that these events start at 8 a.m. on Show Day. j Mr. F. R. McWilliam offered a gold I medal for best work at yard; the four best competitiors taking part to be run off for this prize.
