TO-DAY'S RECIPE
SCOTS TREACLE PANCAKES Take-—-1 lb. flour, 1 tablespoon treacle, I teaspoon bicarb, soda, II teaspoons cream of tartar, I 2 tablespoons sugar, i 1 egg, pinch of salt, s pint sour milk, 1 tablespoon butter. Put dry ingredients in a basin, make a hollow in centre and pour in treacle, egg and milk, melt butter and add, then beat all well. Pour mixture in tablespoonfuls on greased hot girdle and turn once in cooking I about 5 minutes.
