RUSH TO EUROPE
THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS FROM AMERICA NEW YORK, July 1. The summer rush of tourists from the United States to Europe resulted yesterday in an unprecedented congestion of traffic along the waterfront of New York. The departure, within a few hours of each other, of 25 liners, all booked to capacity, attracted 30,000 .people anxious to bid bon voyage to their 'relatives and friends. The Cunard-White Star liner Britannic sailed 25 minutes late with 1350 passengers, the French ship; He de France an hour late with 1400 on board, and the Italian Conte di Savoia eight minutes Tate with 1775 passengers, The Furness Line sent out five steamers.
Shipping men declared that the rush of travel to Europe promised to keep up thoughout the summer.
