WOOL CRUTCHINGS
GOOD CLEARANCE
AT AUCKLAND SALE \
(Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, Last Night
A good clearance of crutchings at prices well in advance of those ruling at the end of the past wool season was made at the Auckland ‘clearing up’ sale to-day. A small quantity of fleece wools and oddments was also offered, and, although these were effected, values showed an improvement on those ruling in March. The number of buyers present was larger than was expected in view of the small offering, and competition was healthy throughout. Generally, results were regarded as highly satisfactory. Prices for better class crutchings ranged from sd. to 63d. against from 4d. to 5Ad. in March, and a large number of sales were effected at 6d. and over. Inferior and seedy sorts ranged from 33d. to sd. with some selling to 5 l-4d. compared with the March range of from 2Jd. to 4d. In the case of fleece wools, the highest price was 9d. for Southdown, while halfbred ranged to 9Jd. Crossbred wool of about medium count sold up to 7d., half-bred lambs to 73d. and others to 63d.
