CHINESE DISASTER

WIDESPREAD FLOODS THOUSANDS DROWNED SHANGHAI, July 18. It is estimated that 2000 square miles of the Shantung province are inundated by flood-waters. Fourteen thousand bodies have been recovered in two cities in the Hupeh province. The death roll is at least 50,000. Yellow river floods are believed to have drowned 30,000.
