The Board's Figures INCREASE AS AT JULY 6 BUT DECREASE FOR THE YEAR (Per Press Association ) WELLINGTON, This Day. The report of the Unemployment Board on the registrations of unemployed, as at July 6, reveal an increase in the total number of males wholly or partly a charge on the Unemployment Fund. The present total is 55,568, and represents an increase of 2327 on the corresponding figure recorded last month. The number in receipt of part-time employment under Scheme No. 5, or on sustenance in lieu of relief work, as at July 6, was 38,085, compared with 37,151 on July 7, 1934 —an increase of 9234. The number in full-time employment, but assisted by wages subsidy from the Unemployment Fund was 17,483, compared with 23,482 a year ago—an increase of 5999. This makes the total number who are a charge on the Unemployment Fund 55,568, compared with 60,633 a year ago—a reduction of 5065.
