There was a fierce discussion to-night at the conference of the Victorian Returned Soldiers’ Association on a motion urging the immediate return of compulsory military training. One section was violently hostile to the motion and talked of “throwing in their badges” if the motion were passed. Opinion was almost equally divided. A serious dispute was averted by an amendment which agred to ref erring the subject to sun-branches for discussion.
