FORESTERS’ ORDER
USUAL MONTHLY MEETING HONORARY LIFE MEMBER There was a large attendance of members of Court Ruahine (A.0.F.) at the fortnightly meeting held in the Masonic Hall last evening. C.R. Bro. I. Samuels presided. An apology for absence was received from J.W. Bro. J. Durno. One new candidate was initiated into the Order by C.R. Bro. I. Samuels, assisted by officers of the Lodge. An invitation is to be sent to the Loyal Tavistock Lodge (Manchester Unity Oddfellows), to attend at the Masonic Hall on August 1 to participate in an indoor bowling competition between the two lodges. Honorary Life Member. P.D.C.R. Bro. J. Cochrane proposed and P.D.C.R. Bro. F. R. Logan seconded that Mrs. R. S. Hopkinson, wife of Bro. F. S. Hopkinson, P.C.R., be admitted to the Order as an honorary life member. Bro. Cochrane referred to the services rendered to the Order by Mrs. Hopkinson over a long period of years, during which time she had always been willing to assist the Lodge in any social functions. He thought, therefore, that some tangible recognition should be shown of the Court’s appreciation of Mrs. Hopkin-
i son’s efforts. i Bro. Logan endorsed these senti--1 ments, stating that for nearly 30 I years, Mrs. Hopkinson had been close- , ly associated with the progress of the i Order. Bro. W. G. Cook, P.C.R., also I spoke to the proposition, which was ' carried unanimously. Bro. J. H. HopI kinson, P.D.C.R., Secretary of the ' Lodge, on behalf of his mother, suitably replied.
