JOCKEY’S APPEAL

DISMISSED BY COMMITTEE THREE MONTHS’ SUSPENSION (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The appeal of the jockey, A. J. Gilmer, rider of Ruling Meteor in the Wellington Steeplechase last week, was dismissed by the Wellington District Committee at a special meeting to-day. Gilmer was suspended for three months by the Wellington Racing Club’s Judicial Committee on the finding that he deliberately attempted to run Valpeen off at the last fence, and it was against this decision that tie appealed.
