SOUTHDOWNS FOR SYDNEY SHIPMENT SENT YESTERDAY Further indication that Australian breeders are definitely endeavouring to improve the carcase of their fat eu es is given by a shipment from Wellington yesterday by the Marama for Sydney of 150 stud Southdown ewes. The consignment is for ia well-known New South Wales breeder, Mr H. Williams, who has previously made considerable purchases of New Zealand-bred Southdowns. The ewes are all in lamb to stud rams, and are from the stud of three noted Hawke’s Bay breeders, Mr H. B. Stuckey, Mr W. J. Gimblett and Mr A. Symes. The whole of Mr Williams’s consignments have been arranged through The stud stock department of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, Ltd.
