OBITUARY

MR. J. K. CORRIGAN, EX-M.P. (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, This Day. Obituary: Mr. J. K. Corrigan, aged 69 years. He arrived in Hawera 42 years ago from Tinwald, Canterbury, and soon established himself as a breeder of stud sheep. Later he had extensive dairying interests, and was also prominent in trotting circles, being for many years .one of the leading owners. For 28 years he was a director of the Hawera Dairy Coy., and chairman for 17 years. He was chariman of the Eltham Box Company for some years, chairman of the South Taranaki Winter Show Company, a director and chairman of the N.Z. Rennet Company, chairman of the West Coast Refrigerating Company, a director of the South Taranaki Shipping Company, also a director or member of other companies. Mr. Corrigan was the Member for Patea in the House of Representatives from 1922 to 1925, on the United side, and was a representative on the N.Z. Dairy Board from 1926.t0 1932.
