ARMISTICE DAY
FALLS ON A SUNDAY
SILENCE DURING SERVICES LONDON, Sept. 15. Armistice Day falling on a Sunday, the Archbishop of Canterbury has sent a letter to the Bishops, which says that he has communicated with the Government regarding the King’s wishes. He hopes that the religious services will specially refer to the memories, hopes and resolves surrounding Armistice Day and will be arranged to enable a silence to be observed within the churches exactly at 11 a.m. His letter adds: “I am communicating with other • religious communions.”
