ASTONISHED GOLFERS

13-YEAR NANCY JUPP

DRIVE OF 280 YARDS

By Telegraph—Copyright —Press As.

LONDON, Sept. 13. The little 13-year-old Scot, Miss Nancy Jupp, astonished the golfing world by reaching the final of the girl’s championship at Stoke Poges in her first attempt and beating en route conmpetitors four or five years older, whom she consistently outdrove. One drive was 280 yards. She is a beautiful player with a model swing, and hits with deadly accuracy. She began playing when six. How she achieved such perfection is a mystery, as she had only had a few lessons and had not even got a handicap. She plays the final against the 18-year-old Miss Joan Mountford, an experienced player from the North Foreland Club, a nursery of famous players, including Miss Diana Fishwick.
