BY WHEATMEAL COLLEGE HENS The inclusion of 50 per cent, wheatmeal in the ration fed to poultry in an experiment at Hawkesbury College, N.S.W., resultod in an, increase of about 47 p.c. in egg production. Thirty White Leghorn pullets, fed on the wheatmeal ration, produced 141 more eggs during a month than the same number of pullets feci on the ordinary college ration. The usual greenstuff and grain were fed to all birds. Details of the experiments were as follows:— (1) College ration, mixed in proportions, pollard 601 b., bran 201 b., lucerne 'meal 141 b., meat meal 61b.* salt 220 z.: —296 eggs produced. (2) Bation of wheatmeal 501 b., bran 231 b., wheaten pollard 201 b., meat meal 7|lb., salt 220 z.—437 eggs produced. (3) Ration mixed in proportions, wheatmeal 601 b., bran 3341 b., meat meal 81b., salt 220 z,—370 eggs produced.
