St. Patrick’s College Match St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream, advised that they could play To Ante only on July 14. —Received. «■ Thefts of Money
The secretary of the High School • Old Boys' ” Club wrote stating that several players had complained of small sums of money being taken from their pockets during the progress of the game on June 9. "I have told them of the folly of leaving money in their pockets, but if the matter could be given a little publicity perhaps that, might act as a check,” he said. It was stressed that money should not be left about in the dressing •sheds, but it was decided to keep a stricter watch for such offences in future.
A Severe Reprimand J. Lovatt, a Waipukurau junior player, who, in the course of the match with H. 5.0.8. on Saturday, was ordered off for indiscriminate kicking in a loose scrum, after having been twice warned, once for rough play and once for disputing the referee’s decision, appeared before the committee.
The referee outlined the incidents.
Lovatt admitted the rough play in the first instance and the disputing of the referee’s decision, but denied the indiscriminate kicking, stating that 'he was merely “taking the ball through.”
After some discussion it was decided that he be severely reprimanded. An amendment, moved by Mr C. M. Williamson and seconded by Mr J. McLeod, that Lovatt be suspended for one playing Saturday, found no other supporter. Lovatt was warned that more severe punishment would be meted out in the case of a repetition of such offences. Sevesi-a-Side It was reported that arrangements for the forthcoming seven-a-side tourney were well in hand. Stand To Be Cleaned It was decided that the stand should be thoroughly cleaned before the representative match with Puketoi on Saturday. Suspension Of Fixtures The practice of suspending all other fixtures when representative matches were being played was discussed and it was decided to continue this - custom. Victoria College Match The finalising of the match between,
Victoria College and Te Aute was left to the chairman and secretary, two suggested dates being July 14 and 21.
