FROM 5 TO 9 PER CENT.

Restoration of varying amounts in the salaries and wages of its employees has been decided upon by the Hawke’s Bay County Council. The rates of restoration vary between. 5 and 9 per cent. This council, along with other local bodies ,has considered the reinstatement of “cuts” made some time ago, and at the last meeting-, it was resolved to give effect to the following} reinstatements: Salaried staff: 5 per cent. Roadmen: 9 per cent. Small truck drivers: 9 per cent. Gangers: per cent. Grader drivers: 8 per cent. Miscellaneous: 9 per cent.
