Needs of the Candidates
The president of the New Zealand Labour Party, declared Mr E. L. Hills, at Lyttelton, had said at Duvauchellcs Bay that there was not very much to pick and choose between the candidates as far as their merits were concerned. Therefore, said the candidate, the thing to be considered by the electors was the respective needs of the candidate. The speaker, having been a Government worker on the No. o scheme could well do with the job of representing Lyttelton. (Laughter).
