WALKER DEFEATS VARGA ■ \ PENNIES THROWN IN RING (Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 10. George Walker defeated Count Varga by two falls to one at the Town Hall last night. Varga obtained the first fall in the third round with a body press following a series of headlocks. Walker evened in the sixth round with a submission fall from a Boston crab, and secured the deciding fall in the following round with a step-over toehold and leglock. The bout was slow and produced little in the way of thrills.

For the first time in a wrestling contest in Dunedin pennies were thrown into the ring by spectators, who were evidently not satisfied. with the display given by the two men. LUKICH BEATS BROWNING SYDNEY, September 10. Wrestling at Leichhardt Stadium, Lurich defeated Walter Browning by two falls to nil in hollow fashion.
