Ellsworth Vines, despite his failure to reach the quarter-finals in defence of the national tennis championship, and his reluctance thus far to commit himself to a professional contract, is expected to follow Cochct’s lead and to turn professional before the end of the year. It is authoritatively understood that, despite denials, Vines has agreed to talk definite terms soon with the object of joining Tilden in a tour. NEW ZEALANDERS IN FORM By Telegraph—Copyright —Press Assn. LONDON, September 9. E. D. Andrews and Stedman were included in the British International Club’s team playing against Holland at Eastbourne. Britain leads by eight matches to love, the wins including Andrews’s defeat of Timmer, 7/5, 6/8, 6/3, and Stedman’s defeat of Leembruggen, 6/4, 7/5. The New Zealanders in partnership won the doubles.
