An Athletic Prodigy

Hillcrest School, in Hamilton, harbours an athletic prodigy in Fred Davies, aged 13 years, who won eight events at the school swimming sports in March, and at the athletic meeting won every one of the four track events for which he entered, in addition to leading the relay team. That his sports do not unduly interfere with his studies is shown by the fact that he is in Standard VI. He is by no means a giant, as he scales only a couple of pouffds over 7st. He is a son of Mr W. H. Davies, an ex international League football player.
