IN BODY SCISSORS
WRESTLER UNCONSCIOUS LUKICH’S STRONG POINT SYDNEY, August 7. In the fifth round of his contest with Duke Richins at Leichhardt Staduim, Tom Lurich obtained a body scissors hold, and applied such pressure that Richins was rendered unconscious. His seconds could not revive him, and he had to be carried to his dressing room. Dr. McAdam ordered his immediate removal to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, but after treatment he left the institution. When applying a body scissors, a wrestler wraps his legs around his opponent, locks his ankles together and squeezes with his knees. The body scissors is Lurich’s favourite hold, and he frequently wins contests with it.
