Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club LOSS OF £402 FOR PAST YEAR 'Following is the annual report of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club, to be presented at the annual general meeting of members at the tea. kiosk on Lhe club’s racecourse, Hastings, on Wednesday next, August 23, at 10.30 u.m.: — . “Your committee regrets that the club’s operations resulted in a loss of £402 1/4 for the past year, during which racing was held on seven days. The club collected for and paid to the Treasury over £4OOO in taxation during the year. We were unfortunate in having exceptionally disagreeable weather for our winter meeting; otherwise the position would undoubtedly have been better. THE WELLINGTON CLUB YEAR’S PROFIT OF £297 (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The annual report of the Wellington Racing Club discloses a net profit for the year of £2 9 7 19/6 after making provision for, depreciation amounting to £25000. The report attributes the satisfactory financial result very largely to the adoption of the win-and-place system of betting.
