With the first three horses finishing slightly more than a nose apart, Up won the featured race at the Tanforan track to-day, making the course of 170 feet less than 6 furlongs in 1.10 2-5. Up nosed out Tea Trader, the New Zealand importation, which was Tuning its first race in America. Tea Trader made a whirlwind finish to nose out Sarazen.

DARGAVILLE SUSPENSION CASE OF L. CLIFFORD (Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, Last Night. The suspension for six months of the apprentice jockey, L. Clifford, in connection with the Dargaville case last December has been removed by the Auckland District Racing Committee. PURCHASE BY SIR C. He was bred by Mr J, B. .Joel, and represents some of the most successful blood in his stud. Magnus’s dan, Princess Dorrie, a winner of the One Th on st nd Guineas and the Oaks, is a hadf-s.’ster to Sunstar, winner of the Two Thousand Guineas and the Derby. The Persimmon horse. Your Majesty, the sire of Princess Dorrie, is a St. Legcr winner. Magnus did a little racing and won a mile race at. Newmarket as a three-year-old. He has had several seasons at Captain Moore’s stud in Ireland, where he has left some promising stock. He is expected to arrive here about September, and he should be a valuable addition to the breeding stock of the Dominion.
