WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
PUKEHOU GROUP ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting was held on Wednesday, March 15, instead of the usual day (Thursday ) on account of the Hawke's Bay Show. Mrs Campbel/ presided over a good attendance of members and cordially welcomed three visitors. The secretary' (Mrs Neave) lead the annual report which was deemed very satisfactory, there being a slight increase in the membership, also a. small credit on the balance-sheet. Airs Ncild, who is leaving, the district. was the recipient of a small present from the members. This was followed by a play-reading entitled “Taking the Chair,” which caused a. good deal of amusement. The election of officers resulted in the following ladies being on the committee: Mesdames Campbell (president'). Neave, Turley, Moore, Schultze, Gray and Kitt. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Jarvis and Maney and Miss A. Williams. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close by the singing of tho National Anthem.
