CAR WRECKED

IN COLLISION WITH TRAM NEW PLYMOUTH ACCIDENT NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. Four persons received injuries to the head in a collison between a tramcar and a motor-car at New Plymouth this afternoon. No one in the crowded tram was injured, but the motorcar was badly wrecked. The driver of the car. Mrs. Matthews, a widow, received severe shock: with slight concussion; Arthur Slade, a boy, aged 10, had a broken jaw and bruises; and a girl, Delia Matthews, aged five, and a boy, Noel Matthews, aged thirteen, suffered severe shock and abrasions. The motor-car was telescoped, and the wreckage lay partly under the tram. When the tram backed away, smoke issued from underneath, but there was no serious fire.
