Butterfly Competition The competition organised by the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society for the purpose of combating the white butterfly pest has proved more successful than was at first anticipated. The 43 children who entered for the competition have been unusually active, with the result that when the competition closes and the final count is made, it is expected that no less than 200,000 butterflies will have been destroyed.
