DEATH BY POISON
OF AUCKLAND DOCTOR SELF-ADMINISTERED IN TEA (Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A verdict that death was due to poison self-administered while he was depressed owing to financial worries was returned at the inquest on Dr. Janies Watkins Harper, who on January 5, became ill in a friend's house, and died after being removed to hospital. Evidence was given that deceased became ill after drinking a cup of tea and poison was found at. the post-mortem examination. Deceased served with the British Army in the Great War, and later was in Egypt, India and Bagdad.
