DOWN HOTEL STEPS AN INQUIRY HELD A verdict of accidental death was returned by the Wellington coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson, yesterday at the inquest concerning the death of William Toshack, aged 60, who died ;n the Wellington Hospital on March 2 from the effects of falling down the cellar steps at the Panama Hotel on March 1. The evidence showed that Mr. Toshack was a storeman employed by Joseph David Davis, auctioneer, who stated that Mr. Toshack was a sober and trustworthy employee. He was a native of Glasgow, and had been in New Zealand since 1908.
