Sub-Association’s Matches OTANE v. HIGH SCHOOL FLAY ON SATURDAY The Central Hawke’s Bay ’ Cricket Sub-Association’s competitions were continued on Saturday, when Waipukurau District High School commenced a match with Otane at Otane. Batting first, Otane were dismissed for 98, Trevena (26) being the most successful batsman. Smales captured 6 wickets for 21 runs. High School knocked up the fine score of 202 runs —Smales 48. E. B. Smith 41, and Wallis 34. Dwyer took 5 wickets for 20 runs. DANNEVIRKE v. OLD BOYS Waipukurau Old Boys and Dannevirke played a match in the weekend, the latter winning by the narrow margin of 18 runs. Dannevirke were dismissed for 34 in their first innings—Barley 17. Spencer had the fine bowling record of 5 wickets for 7 runs. Old Boys replied with 5 7 —Spencer 12. Barley took 7 wickets for 2 9 runs. Dannevirke did better in their second innings, the total being 111 —O’Connor 52, Grant 33. Elliott captured 5 wickets for 15 runs. Old Boys were all out for 70 —A.
