A BUSY DAY

FOR AUCKLAND REGISTRAR EIGHT MARRIAGES PERFORMED AUCKLAND, March 4. Eight brides and eight bridegrooms attended at the Auckland office of the registrar of marriages this morning, and with eight weddings on his hands, the registrar, Air. F. Evans, had a very busy two hours. The first wedding took place at 9 a.m., and by 11 a.m. the last was completed. It was nearly a record for Auckland, the greatest number being nine some years ago. One of the bridegrooms remarked that he did not intend to pay the bachelor tax.
