“MATA HABI” TO-MORROW AND WEDNESDAY To-morrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday we are presenting a picture that we venture to believe will long remain in the memory of the citizens of Waipukurau. "Mata Hari” a Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer production, possesses many features of real interest and entertainment. First it brings to us the initial appearance together of Greta Garbo and Ramon Novarro. surely an event of front-rank importance. A powerful cast supports the two stars ,and heading it wo have Lionel Barrymore, Lewis Stone and Karen Morley. Thon we have the theme, actually the most intriguing mystery tho World War gave us. Mata Hari, that enigmatic figure whose kisses bought secrets that led to the death of thousands of brave mon, whose subtle arts of allure burnt out tho honour of high-placed officers and brought their names and careers to ruin, that beautiful, talented woman who walked a path of peril that brought her to stare into tho muzzles of a firing squad. And what a marvellous piece of acting Grota Garbo gives us in h n r study of Mata TTari. Every moment has its thrill, and while the scenes are racing with excitement tho heart is pounding in sym pathy with an episode of love that came to life in a sinister atmosphere and defied oven death to quench It. The good supporting programme includes Gazette. Flip the Frog Cartoon, and a featurette entitled "Pearls and Devilfish, a fisherman's Paradiso.
