A NEW PARTY
<t> NOT SUGGESTED BY EXCHANGE OP I'ON ENTS / (Per Press Association) WE LLING TON, Sat urd ay. A denial that any of the five members oi the House of Representatives who waited on the Hon. W. Downie Stewart on Thursday had made any mention of the lot mation of a new party was made by Mr. A. Harris ('Government, Waitemata). “It was simply an informal discussion amongst members of the Coalition who are opposed to high exchange,” said Mr. Harris. “No suggestion was made by any member present about the formation of a new party." NEW CITY PARTY PROPOSAL BEING DISCUSSED
There is more talk in Wellington City than in the Parliamentary lobbies about the formation of a new City Party, but it is known that Mr Stewart is being inundated with requests from all over tho Dominion to take positive action to weld together the city interests in the House. Mr Stewart himself
has no statement to make on the matter. When approached recently he smilingly indicated that he did not wish to discuss the question. It is understood, however, that professional and business interests in. Wellington intend to approach the ex-Finance Minister in an organised way before the session ends. —Christchurch Star.
