CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES SEMI-FINAL RESULTS (Per Press Association) MASTERTON, This Day. The Concluding stages of the North Island and Wairarapa Association s tennis championships has been reached. Play will terminate to-day with the men's doubles. In the semi-final, Hawkesworth and' G. Pearce (Otago) beat A. Court and Barrer (Canterbury), 6—l, 6—l. A WIN FOB LOWRY COURT SUCCEEDS IN SEMI-FINAL In the fourth round of the men s singles, Lowry (Hawke’s Bay) beat Barrer (Canterbury) 6 —3, 2—6 and 7. —5 ; Malfroy beat Ferkins (Wellington), 6 —3, and 6 —2. In .the semi-final Court (Hawke’s Bay) beat Coombe (Manavvatn), 6—l, 5—7, and (»—2. The game between Court and Coombe resolved itself into a hard base-line struggle. Court had the measure of his opponent in the third set. Miss Howell (Hawke’ s Bay) defeated - Miss Bell (Welington) in the ladies’ singles by 6 —3, and 6 —3; Miss Whyte (Wellington) beat Miss M. Rutherford (Manawatu), 6 —3, 3—6 and 7—5.
