INDIA LOAN OF £11.000,900 OVERSUBSCRIBED IN 90 MINUTES CALCUTTA. January 23. The new Government of India four per-cent, loan of £11.000,000 which opened this morning, was oversubscribed in 90 minutes. The issue.induced a frantic rush of investors, resulting in the banks being unable to accept cash. The whole loan was taken up in Treasury bills. It is regarded as a triumph for India's credit and stability, which should pave the way for the operation of the big conversion issue likely to amount to £36,000,000. which is expected to-night.
