FAIR CONDITIONS The following is the weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this .■ay and issued at noon:— The indications arc for northerly winds, moderate and freshening. There is a prospect of fair weather, with mild and hazy conditions. The barometer is falling slowly. MILDER TEMPERATURES Bollowing is the Government meteox ologist’s weather report and fore cast, issued last night:— An extensive anti-cyclone is still centred over the Dominion. A slight westerly depression is moving over the southern Tasman Sea. South-easterly winds at first north of Kawhia and East Cape; otherwise northerly prevailing, light to moderate generally, but freshening gradually. Seas smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with moderate seas, but winds and seas rising in the southern portion. Weather still fine generally at first but cloud increasing in districts -with a westerly aspect and some showers developing later. Temperatures ' becoming milder.
