(Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 30.
The Australian cricket team bound for Canada arrived by the Niagara to-day. A. A. Mailey, v/ho is in charge said that th'e object of the tour was not only to stimulate the interest in the game in the United States and Canada, but also to promote a better feeling between Australia and those countries. Most of the matches would be played in Canada.
The tour would open with a game at Victoria. 8.C., on June 18. There would be two matches at Toronto, incluuding a test against Eastern Canada. Possibly the itinerarj’ would be altered to allow the team to visit Ottawa at the time of the Conference. Besides Bradman, V. Richardson. Kippax and McCabe, the players include Carter, the wicketkeeper, who is accompanied by his son. and Dr. Pope, who tourned New Zealand with Gilligan’s team.
