4> — RIOTS IN THE RHINELAND CLASHES WITH THE POLICE LONDON, Last Night. The "Times” correspondent at Frankfurt states that four were Killed in Communist riots in the Rhineland, which are still unquelled. Shop windows were smashed and looted, the demonstrators dean pearing when the police arrived. A pitched battle occurred between rioters and the police at Zuppcrtal, lasting two hours. The Communists used rifles and automatic pistols. They pulled up manholes and tore up roads in order to obstruct the police. Several hundred demonstrators were arrested. ALSO TROUBLE IN AFRICA SIX PEOPLE ARE KILLED MADRID, Last Night. Six persons were killed in various parts of Spain in Communist demonstrations on Sunday. Many were injured in clashes between rioters and troops. The Communists arc demanding the release of comrades deported to Spanish Africa following the Manrcsa outbreak in February. OUTBREAK IN BOMBAY.
AN EXTENSION FEARED
CALCUTTA, May 29.
There was a further outbreak of Moslem rioting in Bombay this morning. Three are dead and 30 injured. The trouble shows signs of spreading to the scenes of the recent outbreak. Armed police are patrolling the streets and armoured cars and troops are in readiness.
