“That’s our man,” said a member of the council of the Taranaki Acclimatisation Society at a recent meeting, after a letter had been read from an applicant for a position as ranger. “I am 26 years of age, 6ft.? in height, 13st. in weight, a fast run- ; ner, and sound in sight, wind and limb,” wrote the applicant. However/ the society decided that he could not be its man, for reasons financial, ,ands Apollo is to be advised accordingly.
