Stanley Hausner, of Linden, New Jersey, hopped off at 3.5 p.m. on Saturday on a projected flight to Europe in a Bellanca plane of only 220 horse power, capable of about 100 miles per hour. When last seen he was taking a south-east course which would take him over the water quickly. He was having difficulty to gain altitude. He holds a limited private license, which is the lowest grade available. He is a native of Poland. IS FORCED TO RETURN NEW YORK, May 29. Huasner returned to the airport here at 9.20 p.m. on Saturday, six hours after taking off. He. was 300 miles out to sea when the artificial horizon failed. He announced plans for a fresh start, possibly Tuesday. Mrs. Putnam Entertained ROYAL AERO CLUB LUNCH RUGBY, May 27. Mrs. Amelia Earhardt Putnam was yesterday entertained by the Royal Aero Club to lunch and by the Royal Aeronautical Society at dinner. In each case she was the first woman to whom such an honour has been accorded. At the Royal Aero Club famous British flying women including Lady Bailey, Miss Winifred Spooner and Miss Amy Johnson were present to meet her.
