The Mayoress, Mrs R. McLean, leaves this week for the South Island on a visit to her relatives

Mrs J. B. A’Deane, of “Ashcott,” Takapau, is at present visiting Wellington.

Mrs H. Mackay, Napier, has returned home after visiting Mrs J. Mcßae, Tourcrc, Hatuma.

Miss E. Moriarty, who is an inmate of Sister Anderson’s private hospital, is reported to-day to be progressing .as well as can bo expected.

Mr Wallace and his daughter, Mrs Clemens, of Christchurch, are the guests of Mrs H. Henderson, Gaisford Terrace.

The many friends of Mrs R. T. Hall, Otanc, will regret to hoar that she has been called to Wellington to her mother who is very seriously ill.

Mr and Mrs J Boyle, who have been staying with Mr and Mrs J. Blackmore, Nelson Street, returned to Wellington to-day.

Little Barbara. Pederson, of Otane, has been re-admitted for further treatment to the Waipukurau Public Hospital.

Mr and Mrs J. A. Buchanan left, by train this morning for Wellington, en route for Sydney, where they will spend the winter.

Miss H. Rogerson, who has for several weeks past boon the guest of her sister, Mrs N. E. H. Hubbard, left today on her return to Invercargill

Mr J. A. Kerr, of Ruataniwha, has been re-elected as a vice-president of the Hawke’s Bay Provincial District of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union.

Mr S. Brandon, who recently underwent an operation in Sister Anderson’s private hospital, has, his many friends will be pleased to hear, recovered sufficiently to return to his home.

In view of the importance to be attached to currency questions at the Ottawa Conference, it is likely that the Secretary to the Treasury, Mr A. D. Park, will go to Canada with the New Zealand delegation, according to a statement by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W Forbes, on Saturday. The Comptroller of Customs, Dr. G. Craig, is also likely to be in the party.
