Women’s Auxiliary Reform League. The annual meeting of the Women’s Auxiliary Reform League will be held in the Masonic Hall to-morrow at 2.30 p.m., when the report and balance sheet is to be received, and the election of officers will take place. The price of broad, which had reached as low a figure as 3d per loaf at the local cash grocery stores has now turned to 5d per loaf at both stores and bakery shops. Prior to the recently waged price war the staff of life was not available below 6cl per loaf. Hay For Wairarapa Farmers.
The fulfilment of the 1000-ton order of pressed hap purchased for Wairarapa farmers is being rapidly forwarded by the staff at the Hastings station. It means the loading of 100 trucks of hay to fulfil the order, with probably, as much more to follow later on. Lightning Causes Trouble
Lightning in the western area of the Stratford county on Saturday caused a good deal of inconvenience in connection with the telephone service, several switches being blown out. The electric, power was not interfered with, however, the only trouble met with being ('the blowing out of a switch near Mangatoki at 12.5 p.m.
