WALKER BEATS UZCUDUN IN 10 ROUND DECISION NEW YORK, May 26. Mickey Walker, the tough New Jersey fighter, who alternately ruled the welterweight and middleweight divisions, won a ten-round decision to-night over Paulino Uzcudun, the fading Basque heavyweight, before a crowd of 8000 in Madison Square Garden. WELTER WEIGHT IN HOSPITAL CHICAGO, May 26. Jackie Fields, the world’s welterweight champion, was under observation to-day in hospital with a severe pain in his right side, and may have to undergo an operation for appendicitis within the next 24 hours. BASS STAGING A COMEBACK PHILADELPHIA, May 26. Benny Bass, the former junior light-weight champion, started his comeback campaign by taking a tenround decision from Harry Dublinsky, the Chicago lightweight. Bass was impressive and forced the fighting throughout.
