A Wanganui Loan.
A City of Wanganui Joan for £121,400 at six per cent, at £96 10s, repayable in 1942, has been underwritten in London, states a cablegram just to hand. Heavy Traffic Fees At a meeting of the Stratford County Council the chairman (Mr T. R. Anderson) said that while in Wellington recently he had interviewed the Right Hon. J. G. Coates and asked that it be made optional for county councils to collect the heavy traffic fees on farmers’ lorries used for carting milk to the factories. Mr Coates said the request would be favourably considered. Mr Anderson was of the opinion that the request would probably be granted, and he stated that the matter would come up for discussion at the next meeting of the Taranaki Local Bodies’ Association on June 1. \ , • 'i'J UJ t
