No. 3 remarked that he hailed from New Zealand and that the N.Z. challenged comparison with any’ leaf grown. Tastes differ of course. But leading experts agree with the NewZealander. The outstanding merit of New’ Zealand tobacco is largely owing to the fact that it is toasted —just as coffee and cocoa beans arc. Hence its unique flavour and fragrance. Yes: and toasting docs more: it absorbs the poisonous nicotine, thus rendering the tobacco absolutely’ harmless. There is no other toasted “weed.” The four brands manufactured arc: Riverhead Gold, Navy Cut No. 3, Cavendish and Cut Plug No. 10. Every tobacconist sells these goods, but buyers arc cautioned that the popularity of N.Z. tobacco has caused imitations to get on the market.
