PRICES WELL MAINTAINED.
(Per Press Association) FEILDING, Friday Despite the depressing outlook, prices
were well maintained at the stock sale. There were average yardings of sheep and cattle. Fat hoggets showed an advance on prices at last week’s sale, by about 2s a head. Fat wethers and ewes sold well. Stores were yarded in smaller numbers, there being no change in the prices. Dairy stock was not patronised to any extent. The prices offered showed no change. Fat hoggets (primest/ 245, prime good 23s Id, one line at 265, good 20s 9d, medium. 18s Id to 18s Bd, fat b.t. 225. Fat wethers (primest) 26s 2d, very good (heavy) 25s 6d, good 22s Id. Fat ewes (best) 19s to 19s 7a, good 17s to 18s, medium 16s 9d, maiden ewes 18s.
Store sheep. —Ewe hoggets 12s, wether hoggets 12s 6d to 15s, 2-tooth ewes 17s 6d to 20s.
Fat cattle. —Bullocks to £l2 10s, maiden heifers to £lO 17s, fat cows to £9 10s. Bullocks made up to 40s per lOOlbs., cow r s to 355. Store cattle. —Cows £2 10s to £4, yearling heifers £2 15s to £3 10s, 2-year heifers (empty) £6 ss, dairy heifers to £lO 10s, cows to £8 17s 6d.
